Cedar Crest is a rustic camp set on 500 acres in the heart of Middle Tennessee, approximately 45 minutes southwest of Nashville. For several weeks during the summer, it becomes the home for hundreds of children and youth, grades two through twelve. Campers enjoy activities ranging from campfires to swimming, arts and crafts to creek stomping. Our purpose is to provide an outdoor setting in which elementary children and youth are given the opportunity to explore God's creation, to experience living in a small community that challenges and tests social and personal skills, to explore their faith as it relates to life experience and to strengthen their knowledge and commitment to a relationship with Jesus Christ as a basis for belief. Through small groups, under the guidance of counselors and directors who are equipped for leadership in this setting, the campers will enjoy varied experiences that will help develop a sense of security in the love of God, provide contemplative time and corporate worship experiences, and encourage wholesome times of celebration, laughter, and fellowship. |
